The Role of the Sergeant: Leading with Purpose
For nearly half a century, Cristando House, Inc. has trained over 40,000 people working at all ranks in the criminal justice system to be extraordinary leaders. The concepts and practices examined in this program have been tested and proven. We know they work.
Organizations are only as effective and consequential as the leaders who lead them, irrespective of rank. In law enforcement organizations, it is the sergeant who sets the tone, who creates the positive and safe culture, and who builds strong and cohesive teams which deliver high quality service and outcomes which make communities safer. All aspects of the sergeant’s role in the police organization are explored in detail. Field supervision, administrative duties and team leadership are all examined. Emphasis is placed on the critical role sergeants play in creating a culture of accountability and high performance.
While designed for sergeants, the content is applicable to officers desiring to promote, as well as those in middle ranks wishing to further hone their skills. The class is highly interactive and emphasis is placed on the practical application of the covered material. (CA POST & STC Certified)
