Active Shooter for Dispatch/911
This fast-paced, 8-hour course is designed specifically to prepare dispatchers to quickly identify and respond to violent intruder and active assailant situations. Participants will learn the criteria which define an active shooter incident and examine previous incidents to gain a greater understanding as to the tactics and mindset of assailants. Attendees will also identify potential targets within the their jurisdiction and develop a greater sense of situational awareness, tactical considerations and field operations. Participants will hone their call-taking techniques and dispatching skills to effectively assist field units in the mitigation of an incident. The class also addresses post-incident self care, resiliency and wellness.
