The demographics speak for themselves. Seventy-nine (79) million baby boomers have or will soon reach retirement age. In California law enforcement, 3% at 50 has produced both a tsunami of retirements as well as opportunities for promotion as retirees are replaced with a new generation of leaders. Never have the opportunities for promotion in California law enforcement been as great as they are today. This one-day workshop is designed to introduce prospective sergeants and middle managers who desire to promote to contemporary perspectives on leadership, “best practices” in police organizations and the qualities top management seeks in supervisors and managers. The workshop will also increase participants’ confidence and ability to successfully compete in the promotional exam process.
